After hours of of rewriting code, YouTubeKeep is working again!

There is still an issue with certain formats on certain videos – for example, 3GP and MP4 (medium quality) will still not work on a lot of videos.

We will try to figure out a way to download the other formats reliably soon.

Also, adult videos are again working!

Extreme Mower Racing!

24th February 2010

I often go to the track to watch some drag racing or drifting. I’ve seen some crazy cars and a few alternative motorsports, like V8 boat racing. I thought I’d seen all the motorsports their were, until one day when I saw “Extreme Mowing Racing” in the latest downloaded video on SnagVid.com.

That’s right! People racing around a dirt (or in this case mud) track on their ride on mowers. You’ve got the check out the video, it’s some entertaining stuff!

Google Video Now Supported!

17th February 2010

We have just added support for Google Video!

Be aware that it will only download videos hosted at video.google.com. If you do a video search on Google, a lot of the videos will be from Yahoo, AOL, etc. Currently, we cannot download those.

As always, let us know if you have any issues.

Support for MetaCafe, Spike, Vimeo and more coming!

15th February 2010

Hello dear YouTubeKeep users,

We have just launched a new website: SnagVid.com. SnagVid.com allows you to download from video websites other than YouTube. Currently, it supports MetaCafe, Spike, Vimeo, and we plan to add Google, DailyMotion, MySpace, Facebook, Zshare and heaps more soon!

YouTubeKeep and SnagVid have been linked together, to make things easy for you! Attempting to download a Metacafe video from YouTubeKeep for example, will automatically take you to SnagVid, where the download links will be shown.

If you have any ideas for websites you want supported by SnagVid, please let us know!

Cheers!

YouTube Adds Support for 3D Videos

30th January 2010

This isn’t really news, as it happened over 6 months ago. But I just discovered it, so it was recently news for me. Anyway, did you know, as well as support for Full HD video (released in November 2009), YouTube also supports 3D videos?

Check out an example here.

(This video also has links to a few how to’s too. Like how to upload 3D videos to YouTube, how to make 3D videos, how to make 3D glasses.)

If you have a pair of 3D glasses lying around, left over from a 3D movie, you can use them for YouTube 3D videos. Just select the correct mode from the drop down (Red/Cyan glasses, for example).

Bugs Fixed

28th January 2010

After the new features release yesterday, understandably, there were a few unforeseen bugs introduced by the changes.

Since then, the development team has been working hard and believe they have fixed everything!

If you have any further issues, please let us know via the contact form.

Most of our new features are the result of our users’ feedback; we value your feedback. So please let us know if you have any more ideas!

Cheers,

The YouTubeKeep.com Team
